Lyrics for display on Instagram Stories and Reels over your music can only be delivered by the artist or publisher themselves. The artist must also have verified Spotify and Apple profiles.

Instagram acquire lyrics through Musixmatch, an international song lyrics aggregation website. Musixmatch not only deliver the lyrics to Instagram, but also to various search engines, making it possible for your song to be found through just a few words, for instance on Alexa, as well as Shazam, while also making your lyrics visible on music streaming DSPs such as Spotify, Apple Music etc.

Note that only artists or their publishers can do this. Here's how to proceed:

If necessary, sign up on www.musixmatch.com/sign-up
Sign in to your (newly created) account
Go to https://about.musixmatch.com/artists/verified-artist and click on "Get Verified"
This brings you to a form you must fill-in. Make sure you have your Spotify and Apple Music artist profile links ready

Once you are verified, you can add lyrics to your songs through the tools in your Musixmatch account. Please refer to https://community.musixmatch.com/guidelines for instructions and best practices.
